Nikos Katsaros

Prof. Nikos Katsaros is Director in the Dept. of Human Nutrition in New York College Which is collaborating with the Univ. of Greenwich. Prof. Nikos Katsaros is also scientific collaborator at NCSR Demokritos and National Representative in Domain Committee of EU COST in Food and Agriculture. Also is a scientific collaborator in Chefs Club, Bakers Association of Attika and Vice President of ESTIA a non-profit organization for the promotion of Greek Food and Gastronomy.


Prof. Nikos Katsaros received his BSc. in Chemistry from the University of Athens and his MSc. and PhD. from the university of Massachusetts in USA. He has more than thirty years experience in Inorganic Biochemistry, Food Chemistry, Radiochemistry and Environmental Chemistry. He taught at the University of Southern Georgia, Univ. of Maryland,Imperial College, Univ. of Ioannina and Univ. of Athens.


He also served in the following positions: President of the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET),Director of Research at NCSR Demokritos, Director of Graduate Studies at the Institute of Physical Chemistry in NCSR Demokritos, Secretary of Research and Technology at the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Technology, President of the Greek Chemical Society, Member of the Executive Board of the European Federation of Chemical Societies, National Representative in the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA),Vice President of the Consumers Association of Greece, Member of the Administrative Council of National Agricultural Research Foundation(NAGREF),National Representative in EU Commission of Food and Agriculture and National Representative in EU Commission of Research and Technology(CREST).


He published more than two hundred scientific papers in International Journals and Conference Proceedings and organized more than twenty national and international conferences.
