Maya Tsokli
Maya Tsoclis was born in Paris. Following her father's professional wanderings, she spend part of her childhood in France and Germany, before moving permanently to Greece.
She graduated from the French Lycée of Athens, while also distinguishing herself as a member of the Greek national swimming team. Upon graduation she returned to Paris to study sociology.
Later on she began working with fashion designer Yiannis Tseclenis, before creating her own atelier.
In 1997 she began contributing to the cultural television show “Sin kai Plin” at the ET2 channel. Moreover, along with film director Chronis Pechlivanidis, she created and presented the traveling show “Traveling in Greece” which later on morphed into the documentary series “Traveling with Maya Tsoclis.”
Today, after 14 years of continuous presence in the national television, these series have completed filming in more than 50 countries around the world, have been awarded repeatedly and are considered in Greece and worldwide as one the most reputable sources in traveling.
Maya Tsoclis's name has been associated with traveling journalism. For several years she was in charge of “Passport” traveling magazine and she also hosted a radio show about travel on SKAI Radio.
In October 2009 she was elected as State Deputy with the party of PASOK. She is in charge of PASOK's parliamentary working group on tourism.
In November 2010 she was nominated Ambassador of Greek Wine by the National Interprofessional Organization of Vine and Wine (EDOAO).
