Paris Tsartas
Professor Paris A. Tsartas is currently the Rector of the University of the Aegean. He holds a Ph. D. in Sociology, a MA in Regional Development at Pantion University and a Diploma in Economics at the University of Piraeus. He teaches at the Department of Business Administration which he served as a Head during the period 2001-2003 and 2007-2009. He is the Director of the Laboratory for Tourism Research and Study (ETEM) at the Interdepartmental Program of Post Graduate Studies in Tourism Planning, Management and Policy in the University of the Aegean. He also teaches in a Thematic Section in Tourism at the Hellenic Open University where he acts as a Coordinator. He is an active member of many Professional Societies and International Organizations. He is a reviewer and a member of editorial boards of scientific journals of tourism. He is also the Editor in Chief of «Tourismos, an International Multidisciplinary Journal of Tourism» as well as an editor in various international, scientific journals. He has taken part in International and Greek conferences with papers and has also published scientific articles in various journals. His research interests cover the areas of Tourism Development, Sociology of Tourism, Special and alternative forms of Tourism, Sustainable Tourism Development, Tourism Education, Tourism Employment, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.
