George Pittas


Born in Athens in 1954. Furniture designer and interior designer with parallel studies in political economy and sociology in Paris. Founding member of the "Neo Katoikein" from 1980 to 2000, when he devoted to the development of Greek furniture.

Since 1995, he shares his time between Athens and Paros, where he retains the model hotel unit Lefkes Village. He was a member of the board of the Association of Tourism of Greece and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and was active in issues relative with culture and alternative tourism.

Since 2010 he is in charge, as a representative of Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, of the development of the "Greek Breakfast" in Greek hotels.

He is writer of the books: "Signs of the Aegean", a study and recording of the culture of the Archipelago, River Publishing 2007, "Paros, travel in space and time" Paros 2008, "Athenian tavern”, publications Indiktos 2009 and is preparing for spring 2011 the "Festivals in the Aegean” publication.
