Yolanta Totsiou
Yolanda Totsiou is graduate of the School of Agriculture of Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki (1975), with postgraduate studies in Food Science and Technology (PhD, University of London, 1983).
Since 1983, she is working as a consultant in European policies concerning rural and regional development, quality and safety of food, tourism and culture, evaluation and management of programmes of projects.
Since the beginning of 2000 she particularly addresses the issues of tourism, culture, association, local identity and has also visited most parts of mainland and islands of Greece in order to identify the problems and development prospects of areas (in collaboration with development agencies, local bodies).
Indication projects are; Master Plan in central and southern Cyclades “The fruits of the earth and spirit”, “Achaean towns: Season Cycle”, “Helicon, the mountain of the Muses; the myth as a source for developing the region”, “THESMOFORIA” (developing regional tools based on intangible cultural heritage), “Intractable conflicts in the development process of islands”.
She is also involved in Cyprus as a consultant of the Cypriot Organisation of Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Development Company of Lemesos.
Since 1999 she runs AgroPOLE LTD, a consulting company certified with ISO 9001-2000 for the fields of regional development, quality of safety systems, culture and tourism.
She has designed art/musical performances by local production "Lets fill the moon with the culture and products of our country" (Theatre Odysseus Elytis, Ios 2007) and the "Culinary Olympics" (Ancient Olympia, July 2002).
Her current work includes the study of the "Greek Breakfast", addressed to the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.
